Disclosure Policy & Privacy Policy
After much internal debate and deep thinking, I have decided to accept advertising and do product/services reviews on this blog. For a long time I wanted to keep this blog free from advertising but over the months with rising costs for everything, trying to raise money for Firefighter Ministries, bringing in funds for our adoption (which we are still working on paying off), and staying with a blog company that protects me from hacking and spamming, I have decided that it’s time to try to bring in a little bit of compensation to help financially. I like to link to the products, services, and items that I find useful in my daily life as a firefighter, a mother, a business owner, and well, just my life in general. If I already like to do this, why not get paid for it?
I am picking and choosing who I decide to do advertising and product reviews for so that I can keep the integrity of this blog and to keep to the purpose of why I blog: sharing with you our life as firefighters, me being an adoptee, and being adoptive parents. The readers of this blog have been wonderful and I have appreciated your friendship, that is why I believe in full disclosure and transparency in what I do on this blog.
One of the companies that I have decided to go with for advertising opportunities is PayPerPost.com. This is a great company that allows bloggers, like me, to do blog reviews of products and services that are relevant to the content I already post on this blog. So far, from what I have experienced, they have been wonderful to work with and I have met lots of other awesome bloggers. I tend to stick to the same genre of bloggers and this network has allowed me to read outside of my box! There are some pretty cool bloggers out there and I have been able to read some blog content that I would never have known about in the past. They also have message forums where you can post questions or start conversations about writing advertising posts on your blog. I have learned quite a bit, talked with some great people and I am pretty excited about it.
This will also be a great way for me to continue to bring funding in for my organization Firefighter Ministries. I think a lot of non-profit organizations are hurting right now because of the rising costs of everything that is needed in our daily lives. I know we have seen a dramatic decrease in donations. So, what we make off of advertising here will go to fund Firefighter Ministries. If you are a blogger that is interested in something like this, I highly recommend them.
Anyway, I wanted to be open and honest with you all about what I am doing here. I love writing about adoption and firefighting and my crazy family. I hope you continue to stay and read Adoption & Fire.
