That Time of Year

Chinese New Year is only two weeks away and somehow, someway we have a CNY event to go to nearly every weekend until the end of February.  Our Families with Children From China group has an amazing group of families on the north side of Houston.  The group is so big that they have broken into smaller groups for smaller events.  Because we are friends with several families on that side of town, we have participated with them more this year.  Today the festivities were kicked off with a late …

December Daily- All That Glitters

So, it’s December 1 and that means it’s time to start up the December Daily album again.  This year I am going to be making this album mostly digital but I will throw some hybrid pages in the mix too.  I ended up signing up for the 25 Days of Templates class over at ReneePearson.com.  I was bouncing back and forth between a couple of online classes that I could take in order to help me take this project up a level, well, someone on a message board highly suggested …

Thankful For

Thank you Simple Scrapper for the template and the ideas for putting together a holiday journal/digital scrapbook. Papers are from the Thankful for You kit.  These pages will be added to my December Daily album.  Look for more information about that tomorrow evening.

Thanksgiving Recap

Thanksgiving came and went in a blur and already Black Friday is flying by.  Why does the time seem seemed to be sucked through a vacuum when there is fun to be had, or big meals to be readied?  It’s hard to believe that the chapter of November is almost through and that we are moving onto the holiday of Christmas.
As it always seems to be, John had to work on Thanksgiving.  That means he is gone for 24 hours.  So, since my parents are in town, I decided to …

Happy Thanksgiving

I am thankful for so many things but these three things seem to sum it up the best: my faith, family, and friends.    Happy Thanksgiving dear family and friends.  I hope your day is filled with blessings and plenty of food!

December Daily

I am so sorry for not blogging for nearly two weeks. I am telling you that life is just kind of flashing before my eyes. Of course my other problem is, that by the time we get the ‘Little Texas Tornado’ in bed, we are just exhausted and crash in front of the TV. So, no blogging for me because I have been both lazy and exhausted. However, I am excited to share in with the other fans Ali Edward’s December Daily challenge again this year.

You …

Harvist Holiday Photos- Part 1

I need to add a photo of our 37 pound pumpkin and our collection of harvest holiday photos would be nearly complete.  I am totally loving the arts and crafts that Catherine comes home with.  There have been so many cute Halloween and autumnish crafts for us to adoringly display on our refrigerator.  So, I thought I would add some of her craft collection to our collection of harvest holiday photos- part 1.

Now aren’t these little pumpkin crafts just too cute for words?  Well, to me they just are!  I …

I Know You Are Only Here For This

We did the ‘Trunk or Treat’ event at our church.  I think it’s way more fun than having to go door to door asking for candy.  The kids get to play games, jump on the jumpies, watch a movie, face painting, snacks, and more.  So, I thought this was a better alternative for us this year. Catherine seemed to enjoy herself.  We let her have some candy, but I think it ended up being too much and just had a tremendous sugar rush and then a big crash.  Not pretty …
