This Life… ⁶

I have been feeling disconnected from my blog title, Adoption & Fire, for quite some time.  When I started the blog 6 years ago, it was perfect.  I was involved with a fire department and we were adopting.  Fast forward to now and my involvement with the fire service is much more broad than just responding on a fire truck and we aren’t adopting…we are raising a child.  I love that blog title but it no longer fits to who I am now.  I have been mulling over a new name for quite some time and tonight it hit me.  I decided to rename the blog to, This Life…

This Life…will no longer leave me feeling like I am pinned to just writing about life in the fire service or adopting a child.  This Life is about:

• every day life
• art journaling and other craftiness
• our traveling adventures
• photography
• my faith
• homeschooling
• my quest for finding the perfect cupcake
• random thoughts
• raising Catherine and love my husband
• and anything else that sounds good enough to blog

I will still talk about my life as a fire chaplain because that’s a big part of who I am.  I will still talk about adoption when I feel that it’s appropriate.  Adoption is a part of who I am and who Catherine is but it’s not primarily who we are.  We are both so  much more than our adoption stories.  I’m not saying that it’s not important, it’s just that there are other things that are more important right now.

I hope you like the new name and I am looking forward to moving forward without feeling restricted by two words.
