Equally shocking is that the bullying and taunting with that ugly word "faggot" has reached the point where the boy's mother has decided to home-school him instead. Where were school authorities in all this? Why didn't they put a stop to it after the very first episode instead of letting the situation continue -- thus making a mockery of the notion of zero tolerance for school bullies?

I have a question out of curiosity.

You have seen and worked with this devastation and seen what it does to families. Knowing you live in a flood zone and its just a matter of when, have you considered moving?

I'd like to hear your thoughts on that as you are in a position to suffer the same kind of losses. I know when we got off the coast there was nothing that could make me live that close again. Do others feel differently? I mean, I know we can't avoid all disaster in life...but some we can see coming. Or do I have it all wrong? Do I not understand because I have always moved and have no roots? (I'm thinking that is the answer.)

I hope this doesn't offend you. I'm just very curious as I don't understand all the people that will go back to live this all over again. I WANT to understand so I too can remain compassionate.

And again .... thanks for all you do. What a difference you make in life. I can't imagine all the lives you have touched for the better.
