“By adopting, I was giving no biological child, no blood line to my family or to John’s family. All of a sudden I felt like I didn’t belong to either family, it was just John and I and this little child that would not be related by DNA.”

We do not feel this way with my family, but we DO feel this way when we are with my husband’s family. Adoption is not as accepted within my husband’s family… and it can feel very lonely and isolating.

Thats exactly what my post was about when I did the no one told me post! That was the one thing I wish I had known about.

Wendy, thanks for sharing. I read a coupe of these posts out there in the www, but yours is so open and honest I had to leave a comment. Thanks for sharing. I think “adoption can feel very isolating and lonely’ is a big one for me. like most days. I’m so bummed to read you were out here in California last week, since we didn’t get a chance to meet up the last time. And of course, now I am working, so I probably couldn’t have found time this time. Anyways, keep the blog rolling, it’s always a great help to read others who are expressing the same feelings! Stew
