4th Recap 4

We had a great 4th of July and thus we have a ton of photos to share. I set them up in a gallery setting so it doesn’t overload anyone’s computer. If you want to see the full size, just click on the photo. I do want to note that our garden has been doing very well and we have harvested our first cucumbers! Holy moly a cucumber plant will take over your whole yard if you let it!

We spent the morning watching the parade. It was pretty tough for Catherine to wait until it started and we were all a bit miserable in the heat but we survived and enjoyed watching the show of floats, bands, fire trucks and cheerleaders.

After a good barbecue lunch, Catherine and I made stained-glass jello. Somehow I managed to mess up that recipe as well! How does one manage to mess up a jello recipe?? This is two out of two internet recipes I have tried that have managed to be a bit disastrous. At least Catherine had a good time making them.

We then followed it up with a crab boil and hamburger dinner with some of our best buddies (we wish we could have had all of our loved ones here). I almost managed to catch the back porch on fire with the grill (would not look good to have the house of two firefighters on fire) but after putting the garden hose on standby, we kept the house standing. The food was great. The fellowship was awesome. And the 4th went down as a fabulous day in our memory book!
