Remembering Maria- One Year Ago Today 3

It was one year ago that the world quickly learned of Steven Curtis Chapman’s daughter’s tragic death. For those of us in the China adoption community it was a blow that seemed to hit us all a bit deeper. How could a family so filled with faith, and devotion, and love, especially for the adoption community be struck by such devastation? We all wondered that.
Today marks the one year anniversary of that fateful day. Maria’s mother MaryBeth wrote some powerful words in her blog today. You might want to venture over there to read what she has written. If anything, please remember their family in your thoughts and prayers.

I still can’t read about this without crying and crying. Not only for a little girl gone, but for her mother’s broken heart. Mostly I cry for Will. Having an adopted daughter and a son with about the same age difference this could so easily have been us. I can’t imagine all Will must feel and hurt….but I do know it would have destroyed my son if the shoe had been on the other foot.
God Bless all the Chapmans today.
