Life 365- Week 3 6
I have stepped my digi-scrapping up a notch by resizing the templates, playing with frames, trying new elements, and doing some more layering. I am still having some frustration with moving around the smaller elements like the brads and staples but I am getting the hang of it! I am loving it because it's so fast and I already have 3 weeks out of this year already scrapped! It's perfect for me right now. I actually think I might be able to whip out our China album pretty quickly too. I just need to find some Asian themed kits that aren't too cheesy. My friend Melissa sent me some cute ones and I can't wait to try them out.
I was thinking about doing a year in review album for 2008 with this method too but I just saw that Shutterfly has a great album that I can quickly throw together. I want to get caught up and also not feel so pressured at the same time. I want to be able to make Catherine's first year book, a China album, and her lifebook. That's a lot of album to try and make. I figured it would be the easiest and cause me the least amount of stress to use Shutterfly for the year in review. For some reason I was feeling kind of guilty by going this route but I have convinced myself that it's okay. After having a good chat with my friend Heidi on Friday, I realized that I don't need to or have to do EVERYTHING. Putting together an album using an online photo service is not going to make me a bad scrapper; and Catherine and John won't be dissapointed because they didn't get a handmade-by-me album. I have to start taking that kind of stress off my plate.
Anyway, I hope you are enjoying the layouts! I have really enjoyed hearing your feedback and reading your comments! Thank you so much for the encouragement!

Wendy ~ I’ve been slowly trying to learn digi-scrapping over the past year, but there never seems to be enough time. I love how – in this layout – the patterns and colors really seem to complement Catherine’s shirt (from the lower right photo). Very cool.

Wendy, I think what you are doing is great. Sarah went through a phase where she would wear socks on her hands and call them puppets. We had many a day that we wnet through 2-3 different pair of scoks. It was way cute. She would call them her puppets or her glubes. Enjoy.

I want to learn digiscrapping, but right now that is taking a backseat to everything I need/want to do. I love your layouts, so great!
I wanted to share with you that I did the Shutterfly books (actually, I used Snapfish, but same idea) for Christmas gifts for the grand’s and a fav aunt/uncle. They were huge hits, I highly suggest them! In fact, I loved them so much I want to order one for us each year. They are fun to do and really don’t take a ton of time. These will be annual gifts and really, all the grands want are pictures of the kiddo anyway!
Cheers, Kiy
