In Guangzhou 16

Wow!  What an amazing experience today has been!  Wehave finally made it to the White Swan hotel in Guangzhou and it'smore fabulous that I had imagined.  Unfortunately wedon't have time to explore the hotel because we haveto leave bright and early in the morning to catch ourflight to Chongqing.  We will be back though at theend of our trip to complete Catherine's paperwork, sowe will explore the area then.

Tomorrow will be a long day but it will finally be theday that we meet Catherine.  It's overwhelming and sofull of joy at the same time.  It's starting to feelmore real because when we entered our room there was ababy crib by one of the beds.  We also had to finallyhand over the money to our facilitator and hammer outbusiness, so it finally feels like this is happening.

Our facilitator Peter is absolutely incredible!  Ireally, really like him!  He knows what he is doingand we would certainly be lost without him.  He isdown to business and gets things done and gets thingsat the cheapest prices.  I really trust him.

We have met the other families and we just love themboth!  I think we will all have a great time together.

I'm sorry that I haven't posted photos today.  We don't have the time tonight to get them loaded, crop down photos, and then get them posted.Hopefully as soon as we get to our hotel tomorrow with Catherine we can post photos.  However, we could possibly be worn out too.

Anyway, please remember us in your prayers!  We willcall and make posts as soon as we can!

  • If you go to Hong Kong before heading into the Mainland, take the train from HK to Guangzhou.  It’s really an eye opener to see what people are having to endure here.  I have a great sense of appreciation of where my family has come from.
  • The beds at the White Swan are terrible because they are so hard.  I have had to double up blankets in order to lay down.
  • Everything else about the White Swan is spectacular!  I can’t wait to see more of it when we get back here.
  • I love Chinese toothbrushes!
  • There is a person that works on each floor that handles the elevators.  When you get off of the elevator they point you to your room.  When you leave your room, they follow you to the elevators and press the button for you and then wait until you get onto elevator.
  • There are no clocks in the hotel room here at the White Swan.
