Break Out the Surf Boards! 3

Our daughter’s room will be decorated in a surfer/tropical theme.  That is another reason why I chose (and fell in love with) the furniture we bought. It looks like it belongs at a beach.  The colors will be bright: pinks, oranges, greens and blues.  I found some great buys at Target that fit a long the surfer theme.  When the items went on clearance, I snatched them up.  Here are few pictures:

Surferbedding

This is the quilt that I bought.  It’s hard to see the colors on the quilt but they are bright and beautiful.  I will most likely be using the quilt to put on the floor while she plays.

Surflights

And these are the lights that I am going to string around the ceiling.

I plan on making some bedding and clothing items like blankets and bibs.  The crib bedding sets are so expensive, sometimes even more expensive than the crib itself, so I figured I would make some of my own things.  In the Baby Bargain’s book they say it’s pretty much a waste to buy a set because most of the items are useless.  I feel a little bit guilty though because when we thought we were going to decorate with ladybugs, John had bought a really cute set on eBay.  I am pretty sentimental, so I am not sure if I am going to resell it or try to do something else with it.  Anyway, here are a few pictures of some the fabrics that I am looking in to:
